Stay hydrated this summer
As the mercury begins to rise and more of us wake from our winter slumber we thought it was time to provide a reminder about the importance of hydration.
We take our role in this space very seriously and considering the average human body is made up of 60 per cent of our product (water) the message is an important one as we head into the summer months.
Luckily, at least for those who live in our expansive 54 town service region, there are more than enough locations to ensure your water percentage is maintained at the appropriate level.
No matter whether you are in your cricket whites, carrying a Yonex onto the tennis court, about to set off on a bush walk at one of the picturesque rail trails in the area or are just out for a stroll in the park with the kids – a Goulburn Valley Water Hydration Station will never be too far away.
And, not to harp on the fact, your body will thank you for stopping off at the easy to identify “watering holes” to take in some extra fluids.
So will your hip pocket . One litre of bottled water can cost the same as 9000 glasses from the tap. This alone should be enough encouragement for our communities to live more sustainably and make better decisions for the environment.
Hydration stations help reduce single use plastic by encouraging people to bring their own reusable bottle to fill up while they out and about. More than 373 million plastic bottles go to landfill every year across Australia, so these stations create an easy way to make more environmentally friendly water refill choices.
The choice is simple, any time you are planning an outdoor adventure do a quick search for a hydration station and pack your water bottle - then include a stop at the re-fill point on your route.
