SATURDAY 8 DECEMBER - 5:00pm Work Complete
Works have been completed at the pump station in Mason St Shepparton and the pump is now back in operation. GVW would like to thank nearby residents for their patience whilst the works were carried out.

FRIDAY 7 DECEMBER - 5:00pm Update

Operations staff will remain on site at Mason St tonight as they continue to rectify the pump station issue. The area has been isolated and sucker trucks are working to clear the well so the blockage can be removed.

Contingency plans are in place to ensure that there is no risk of a spill. Nearby residents are advised that the site will be lit up so work can continue into the night and there may be some noise associated with the works. Temporary pumps will remain in place over the weekend and traffic at the site will remain constant. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

12:30pm
Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) is working to rectify a problem at Sewerage Pump Station 1 (SPS1) in Mason St Shepparton after a blockage earlier in the week. A build-up of fats and wipes has caused a restriction within the sewerage system, which has caused the station to stop working.

The station is 15 metres deep which has made it difficult to work on. GVW Operations staff have been working at the site throughout the week and have isolated SPS1. Divers have been called today to gain access to the well to enable it to be drained. Once the well is drained the blockage will be removed using specialist cutting equipment and sucker trucks.

It is expected the system will continue to be diverted until the pump is reinstated in the system. GVW staff will be on site around the clock whilst this work takes place.

Residents in and around Mason St may notice odours coming from the site and will see extra traffic in the area over the weekend. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
