Planned works and coronavirus (COVID-19)

Our staff are working to continue to provide essential water and wastewater services and our critical maintenance and repair programs are still underway. This ensures our services can continue to run smoothly and reduces the chances or bursts or leaks.

We’re taking a number of precautions – including social distancing and additional safety measures – to ensure the safety of our staff, their families and our customers while we work.

Generally works will be carried out on the street, not on your property but if you have any concerns, please contact us on 1800 454 500 at any time. We ask that you don’t approach our staff or contractors while they’re working, as they’re following social distancing guidelines to help keep everyone safe.

We try to keep any interruption to the water supply as short as possible, however we encourage you to make sure you have enough water stored to wash your hands frequently and for 20 seconds, or ensure you have sanitiser available.

Repairs are complete at the Mansfield Water Treatment Plant. Water storage levels still remain low, so water tankers will run this evening to supplement the supply as needed and allow the storages time to recover. Please delay large scale/lawn watering tonight – watering pots/plants from a watering can is fine. 

From tomorrow morning, please return to normal water use and garden watering as normal – remember that Permanent Water Saving Rules are in place (watering using sprinklers only between 6pm and 10am, handheld hoses fitted with trigger nozzles/watering cans are fine at any time).

We’re really sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience while we carried out these critical repairs ahead of a warm weekend.

Water storage levels have recovered overnight - however major maintenance will be carried out at the plant this morning to repair blocked nozzles. The water treatment plant will be offline while the works are carried out and we expect storage levels will drop again - we'll have water tankers supplementing supply as required. We need your help to use water for essential needs only this morning/early afternoon. Crews are hard at work to repair the issue and we expect to return to normal operations this afternoon to be prepared ahead of a hot weekend. 21 January North Shepparton (Grammar Park Estate area) Sewer network smoke testing: We'll be carrying out smoke testing in the sewer networks in North Shepparton on Thursday, 21 January between approx. 9am and 5pm. Smoke testing helps us investigate any potential odour issues and helps to control wet weather flows. The oil we use to generate the smoke is non-toxic and completely harmless, and is not a fire hazard. Please don't be alarmed if you notice smoke coming from sewer man holes, gutter connections or sewer vent stacks or inspection openings near properties where we're testing.

Testing will be carried out at Wollemi Dr, Mungo Dr, Willandra Dr, Bargo Crt, Jasper Dr, Iluka Dr and Namadgi Way, and sections on GV Hwy, Kinchega Dr, and Mootwingee Cres.

Residents directly affected have been sent a letter - remember to pour about 500ml of water in any unused drains at your property before the works begin.

15 January Dookie 7.15am WATER SUPPLY UPDATE: The pipe failure at the Dookie Water Treatment Plant was repaired overnight.

Thanks for your immediate response to our request to limit water use while we carried out the repairs. Water supply is now being restored and customers can return to normal water use.
